MAXIMIZING SPECIAL EFFECTS DURING THE WEDDING PARTY

How to avoid the trash effect: Logistics and scenography at your wedding party

If you too are thinking that simply adding sparklers and smoke will create the scenography at the wedding party... well, read this.

The strange thing I notice at all weddings is that people spend money on "making a scene" (in a positive sense) only in certain moments, leaving the general aesthetic of the event wild. Let's look at some practical examples.

Sparklers at the entrance to the hall are certainly nice and impactful, but then unsightly cubes and cables remain in plain sight, ruining the whole effect. And then, for dinner, maybe the centerpieces and the table arrangement are super classic and anonymous.

Smoke and bubbles during the first dance are scenic, but doing it in the middle of dirty tables with people eating and waiters constantly around with trays clearing tables removes all the magic.

I saw a relative read a very heartfelt letter for the spouses, with the waiter literally passing the mop in front of their feet to clean up the bubble soap. Truly a very cheap thing.

So, what to do?

Here are some ideas on how to best utilize the key moments of the reception if you like special effects.

For the evening hall entrance, I recommend a small scenography to cover the unsightly cubes and sparkler cables, or a well-organized corridor of friends holding sparklers.

You can opt for a more elegant light design with fixed or moving lights.

For the daytime hall entrance: bubble guns for your guests, air machines with moving ribbons, smoke flares.

First Dance

I could go wild, but the golden tip is: do not do it in the middle of the dinner tables! You will gain immensely.

Avoid fireworks both for the sake of animals and for the actual cost/duration. With the same money, boost the design.

Do not release balloons, lanterns, plastic confetti, or other polluting items. If at every wedding one hundred balloons were released, imagine the mess we would find around. Instead, dedicate a moment of silence for your loved ones to salute or dedicate a song. Balloons don't arrive physically, but your thoughts do.

These are small precautions that allow us to place special effects at the right moments and places to avoid the trash effect, which is definitely the opposite of what you desire.
